College of Catering and Public Service of Akimat of Nur-Sultan

Our college is one of the leading educational institutions in the field of catering in our country. It was held in 1983 under the garment factory, was originally called vocational school #5 and it was specialized in catering. Since then we went through several serious renovations and modifications, being renamed to

professional lyceum #2, and then finally, in 2012, we acquired a status of college and our present name. From that moment on, 8 000 specialists studied and graduated from the College of Catering and Public Service. We even have students whose parents were once students within the walls of our college.

Nowadays, our alumni have found their jobs in restaurants and cafés in the capital and other cities of our country, and they are successful abroad as well. Strategic directions and aims of our college comply with strategic directions and aims of our government, as well as requirements that were established by the

President of Kazakhstan in his Address. We particularly focus in the part about training competitive specialists in the labour market. Our politics is like this and to meet these requirements we regularly monitor labour market, encourage development programmes of our students and alumni, and held correctional works based on deep analysis regularly.

There is a plan to implement bilingual education in the colleges of Nur-Sultan and our college was chosen as one of the experimental grounds for it. This fact tells a lot, but most importantly, it shows that we are making progress on the right track. After this experiment was over, we strongly decided to switch our education to English. In the year the experiment took place, academic year 2017-2018, specialists that can do their job in three languages were graduated from our college. 98% of these alumni have successfully found their jobs. In relation to these events, from the academic year 2018-2019 the process of education complies to the order of Ministry of Education and Science #553 on “Adoption of model  curriculum and training programmes of technical and professional education specialties”, and switches to brand new modular appropriate programmes.

In the academic year 2018-2019 our College celebrated its 35th anniversary. We had lots of dearest guests on the commemoration: Deputy Head of Education Department of Nur-Sultan, our partners, parents of our students, guests from abroad – director of the Trade and Economics College in Russia and the Head of the Korean Institute of skills development. College of Catering and Public Service of Nur-Sultan went through accreditation process of the Agency of Education Quality Improvement in the 2018-2019 academic year. This is the fruit of years of labour of the administration and collective of our College and is also an indicator of the high quality of the education we provide to our students. Nowadays there are 2 alumni with red diploma from technical and professional educational institutes, 2 candidates of science, 18 masters of pedagogical sciences, and 44% of our collective overall are pedagogues of highest and first category. The teacher of special disciplines S. M. Kozhaberginova has won a Grand Prize of the city contest “The best pedagogue of the academic year 2018-2019”. Other than that, there are lessons and masterclasses being conducted by highly qualified specialists from Italy, France, Norway, USA and South Korea. Also, our alumni often visit their beloved college and conduct their masterclasses to the future specialists and colleagues. This year they initiated establishment of Association of Alumni of College of Catering and Public Service.
